the science and technology commission of shanghai municipality released a list of projects it intended to approve for the science giant project 2015 and bsi (shanghai) stood out among many competitors to secure a place in the list and was honored as “science giant enterprise”.
founded in 1995, bsi (shanghai), was previously known as shanghai rhone-poulenc silicones co., ltd. and rhodia silicones (shanghai) co., ltd. after bluestar’s successful acquisition of rhodia, france, in 2007, the company was renamed bluestar silicones (shanghai) co., ltd. with the bsi headquarters located in lyon, france.

the science giant project is a project led by the science and technology commission of shanghai municipality and shanghai municipal commission of economy and informatization. it is open to all unlisted science smes registered with shanghai administration for industry & commerce and aims at guiding such enterprises towards industries that meet the strategic needs of the country and the city, promoting the clustering of advantageous industrial enterprises at the district/county level, and supporting the development of new-generation information technology, advanced equipment manufacturing, bio-industries, new energy, new materials, energy conservation, new-energy vehicles, and other strategic emerging industries. support offered in this project falls into two categories, that for science giant enterprises and that for science giant enterprises in the making.
