zhonghao chenguang research institute of chemical industry was established by china in the 1960s that specializes in the r&d and production of high molecular synthetic materials.
beginning in 1965 by joining technical forces from 24 scientific research institutions nationwide, it mainly deals with technical development, application research and the production of organic fluorine, organic silicon, epoxy, new engineering materials, special resin and adhesives, macromolecular drugs and materials, plastic molding and processing, special plastic machinery, and chemical equipment and preservation. the institute has 20 types of products divided into 200 varieties with over 1,000 specifications, among which 25 products won the title of "top quality product" at the ministerial or provincial levels. these products are widely-used in the sectors of astronautics, aviation, electronics, petroleum, chemistry, coal, textile, automobile, machinery and many more key industrial sectors.
in the past four decades, the institute has made over 400 scientific research achievements, among which more than half won international, ministerial or provincial awards. in 2005, it successfully fought against sars. and made significant contributions to the launching of the shenzhou vi spacecraft, which garnered praise and encouragement from the sasac, cpc sichuan provincial committee, and people’s government of sichuan province. additionally, it was commended by the cpc central committee, the state council and national government offices at all levels for its contributions to the development of frontier science for national defense and industrial modernization.
located in the outskirts of zigong, sichuan in southwest china, the institute covers an area of almost 1 million square meters, with 2,719 employees (including 833 technicians for various fields), and holding total assets of 600 million yuan. since it was changed into a science and technology-oriented enterprise in 1999, the institute has maintained sustainable annual growth rates at over 30 percent each year with its major economic indicators standing out in china's new composite material industry, and was listed as one of the top 10 chemical enterprises for preferential development in sichuan during the 10th five-year plan (2001-2005). in 2003, the institute ranked 11th in sichuan's chemical materials and manufacturing industry, 99th among 500 industrial organizations in sichuan in terms of profit and taxes, and 156th among 500 industrial organizations in sichuan in sales revenue. it was selected as the vice president unit of the china organic fluorine silicon industry association and model unit in sichuan's chemical industry. the institute can boast of comprehensive scientific research infrastructure, including an engineering center, product application and development center, design center, test center, employee training center, and science and technology library. our sichuan provincial organic fluorine engineering research center and has been recognized as a high-tech enterprise in sichuan. in recent years, the institute has developed over 20 new products, which have all reached internationally-recognized levels.
designed and produced in accordance with astm and national standards, as all products must pass the iso 9001:2000 certification and all chemical products enjoy import and export trading rights. also, the dcs was adopted in the production system and computerization was realized in daily operations. the institute maintains a complete marketing network, so our products are sold nationwide as well as exported to the usa, japan, france, germany, italy, turkey, r.o.k. and pakistan.
the institute attaches importance to technical input. in recent years, several hundred million yuan was invested into technical renovations and construction projects. over 20 new products were developed.. it is the only enterprise in china that can produce raw materials, such as hydrogen-fluoride (ahf) and freon (f22), from fluorspar, and synthesize them into fine fluorine chemicals such as perfluoro caprylic acid, tetrafluoroethylene, vinylidene fluoride and perfluoropropene, and then polymerize them into fluor resin, fluorine rubber, and fluorine products. its teflon products, i.e. cgf 206, cgf 218, sfn-1 and sfn-a as well as a high-vacuum diffusion pump oil 274 and 275 that has reached an advanced level in china. fluorine rubber fpm 26 and polyphenyl ester cgz-351 and 352 represented the advanced international levels in the 1990s. the institute has independently developed the most advanced new tetrafluoroethylene process unit, fluorine rubber project, tfe testing apparatus, and polyphenyl ester project, laying a solid basis for rapid growth.
